Nails of the Day

Yesterday I had my nails taken off, and a new set put on. Now I normally have the "pink and white" done. This is the most expensive set, at £30 a full set and £20 an in-fill.

The difference is, instead of just using a pink acrylic, they put a white acrylic on the top (where your french tip would be) and a pink at the bottom, this obviously prevents the chipping of the white polish or air brush. And I really rate it, it is worth paying the extra to have nails that go the two weeks without being all chipped and horrible.

However, yesterday, I fancied a change, I felt like having a colour put on my nails instead of the usual pink and white. So I got them to put the normal pink acrylic on, and paint them. This was the outcome...

With flash:

Without flash:

They are shorter than what I would normally have or what I would have liked, but the guy in the salon was a bit clipper happy, and once they're short, there's not a lot you can do. My boyfriends first comment when he saw them was "they're really short". But having a colour on my nails, it probably is best to have them shorter, where as if I had white tips, I'd want them longer.

Anyway, it's change, and of course I can change the colour of them myself, with my many polishes I showed you in my collection post.

I'll probably get bored and go straight back to white tips, but this is them for now.

Haul From the Past Week & Bargain of the Year!

Over the past week of so, various mini shopping trips have occured, whether it be quickly before work, or before going to lunch with my boyfriend on Sunday, or online but I've managed to grab a few nice things.

Bangle, £2.50
Cream Earrings, £2/£2.50
Gold heart ring and stud set, £1
All Primark
Maxi Dress, Republic, £26.99

Maxi dress, Miss Selfridge, £30

Cream tunic dress (same as the black one from my last haul), Next, £45

And saving the best until last...

I popped into French Connection just to have a look to see if they had any nice dresses in as possibilities for my birthday dress. It turned out all their dresses (apart from new season ones) were reduced to £45. I took four to the changing rooms, without looking at the was prices. I tried one on and I automatically liked it, so I took it off and tried the rest, which I didn't like, so I decided to get just the one. Then to my greatest shock/excitement, I looked at the was price. Was £230. OMG!

Bargain or what?!

Whilst at the til I mentioned to the girl what a great bargain it was and she said that this week they were having a bargain bonanza, and they had slashed all the sale prices to £45, then as of Monday they go back up to their original sale prices again. I can't remember what the sale price of my dress was, and they take the price tags off in French Connection when you pay, so I couldn't even find out, unless it's on the website. But lucky or what?

Here is the dress in its full glory...

Beaded dress, French Connection, was £230, now £45 (for a limited time only!)

I know it doesn't look that special on the hanger, and just looks like an oversized t-shirt, but once it's on a body, it clings nicely round the bottom area, and is looser around the top, which is a sheer see-through material, but with all the beading and sequins, the fact that it is see-through isn't noticeable.

When I get a chance, I'll put it on and take a picture for you, so you can see what I mean.

I'm not sure if it's going to be what I wear for my birthday yet, because knowing me I will see something else I want!

Collection Series: Nail Polish

For the third installment of my Collection Series, I'm moving on to nail polish. The majority of the time I only use nail polish on my toes, because I have a french manicure on my fingers 90% of the time (except now that is, look for an up and coming post on my new tallons).

So lets go for it.

My nail varnish is kept in a pretty little box, which is about the size of an average shoe box. I got it from Sainsburys, and it does the job.

Dolly Bow Bow

For any of you who follow Kate on YouTube, you might know about her amazing online store DollyBowBow

She sells quirky little vintage jewellery, so a week or so ago I placed my second online order with her.

I ordered the floral rose necklace and the love birds necklace.

The floral rose necklace was £5.99 for the 18 inch necklace, or £6.99 for the 24 inch necklace. I got this one in 24 inches.

The love birds necklace was back in stock, and was the same prices, however I decided that this would be better in the shorted necklace, so I only paid £5.99 for it.

The shipping was free to the UK, and really fast.

I'd really recommend DollyBowBow if you're looking for something a bit different and a bit more personal.

Confessions of a Shoe Addict

So since I got back from Jamaica a week ago, I seem to have gone a bit shoe crazy. Over last weekend New Look had a 20% off summer sandals offer on, so I had a look online and ended up ordering a pair that I liked the look of, which I hadn't seen in the shop before. Then after work on Friday I popped into New Look and ended up buying two more pairs. Over the weekend I went shopping with my boyfriend, where another pair of shoes were purchased this time in Primark and finally on Sunday I popped into Primark again and got another three pairs! Ooops. So, thats a total of 7 pairs of shoes in a week. Kind of extream I know. Oh well, it was pay day, and they're pretty so never mind.

Here they all are anyway::

:: New Look ::
:: Primark ::
Whilst on the subject of shoes, my Mum and I had a big clear out of our spare room (walk in wardrobe lol) today, and I ended up getting rid of 29 pairs of shoes! I was brutal, and if I hadn't worn them in a while, they got binned, there were even shoes I have never worn, but I just knew I was never going to wear them, so they might as well just go. We can actually walk around our spare room now, and it is no longer a dumping ground, horray!
