Witch Skincare Bloggers Event

DSC08897
On Saturday 26th February I was privallaged to attend the Witch Skincare Bloggers Event in Soho, London. The event, aswell as being a chance for us bloggers to meet and mingle with one another, was to showcase their new line in anti-blemish make up, a celebration of "skindependance".

The range has been designed to let you lead the life you want to lead without worrying about the effects it will have on your skin, as explained to us at the beginning of the event by one of the team, Helen.

Why Witch Hazel?
Taken from the Witch site;

"For more than 40 years Witch has used witch hazel, natures clever ingredient. It naturally clenses, tones and soothes, leaving your skin perfectly balanced, soft and healthy looking. That's why we use it in our products."
"Witch products are suitable for most skin types, but it's on oily or combination skin that the power of witch hazel can prove particularly effective."

"Combination skin is very common - some areas of the face are oily, some are dry. Typically there is an abundance of shine in the T-zone, which is the forehead, nose and chin. This area is more likely to have excess oil due to larger, more active oil glands. The area around the cheeks, eyes and temples tends to be normal or even dry due to fewer and smaller oil glands. People with combination skin may find their concerns over oiliness and dryness can change based on the skin care and cosmetic products they use and also with the change of season. In winter normal or dry areas may become rough or flaky, while in summer the T-zone may become oily and shiny."

The theme of the day was "naughty & nice", getting a balance between healthy virtues and guilty pleasures. A healthy lifestyle means a balanced lifestyle, so we were offered healthy and not so healthy tempting treats.

Here you can see Nicola and I arriving at the event;

We were greeted by the lovely Lauren and Holly and this;

Celebrity make-up artist Nat Von Zee was on hand at the event to give a demonstration of all the new products, tips on the range and make up in general and of course answer any questions that we had.

Here is Nat doing the demo on Helen.

We were then set fee to lose ourselves in the various different goings on, from the treatment area, where you could have your make up done, manicures, get a massage, have raki done on you. There was also a palm reader on hand (do excuse the pun), knitting lessons, cookie decoration, Wii and a Poker masterclass..which I won! Not bad for my first time.

At the end of the event we were treated to a lesson in Burlesque and of course a nice goody bag, which I will be delving into in a later post.

After all the fun and games Nicola and I skipped home with our goody bags in hand and smiles on our faces from our lovely afternoon learning all about the Witch brand and the new products.

In the new range you can find:

* Redness Relief Moisturiser
* Skin Clearing Primer
* Tinted Moisturiser
* Pressed Powder

Massive thank you to all at Witch for laying on the event and I look forward to many more to come.

Eyeko Bloggers Event

Evening Ladies,

I realise this is terrilby late, but do excuse me as I've been having a lot of internet problems on my new laptop.

So as the majority of you will know by now because it's already been all over blogger and twitter, Eyeko held a bloggers event on Saturday 2nd October at Wenlock and Essex in Islington, London.

I met up earlier in the afternoon with the lovely Lauren from Lauren's Dressing Room (who I've known for many years but had never actually met until the event) for a spot of lunch, a few drinks and a good old gossip.

We were so busy nagging we didn't notice the time, so had to gulp our lunch down and jump on the tube one stop to angel to head to the event.

When we arrived at the event we were greeted by some lovely Eyeko staff, a private room, with a glowing dancefloor, mirrored ceiling, gorgeous cupcakes and yummy cocktails.

Lauren

Throughout the night there were several goings on, there were make-up artists and hair stylists on standby to beautify us, you could have your nails done, and get you tarot read, sample the up and coming new Eyeko products, take part in competitions, and meet and chat to the Eyeko creators Nina and Max.

Myself & Gem (who I went to school with)

L-R: Myself, Gem, Milly & Lauren

A fabulous night was had by all, and it was lovely to meet some more of the girls whose blogs I'm an avid reader of, I'm just sad I didn't get to to round and talk to everyone.

Thank you for the invite Eyeko I had a brilliant time :)
My take-away cupcake was scrummy...

Aussie Colour Mate Party

The eagerly anticipated Aussie Colour Mate party took place on Saturday night. The Colour Mate tribe have patiently waited for our event, getting green eyed at all the other Aussie Tribes photographs and blog posts from their events that have been staggered throughout the year. But last, but not least, the day of our party finally arrived, and it was worth the wait!

So I got my glad rags on and headed off for destination, the Kingly Club, Soho.

I was allowed to bring two friends to party with me, I opted for just one, and of course that was my bestie, Nicola.

When we finally found the club, which is really tucked away in Kingly Court, picking up several bloggers on the way, we really did enter like a tribe! We were greeted by a table of Moet...

And of course, the lovely Emma.

After a few glasses of champers while we waited for other bloggers to arrive, we were joined by two very special guests.

Thats right ladies...Lady GaGa and Beyonce showed up to show their support for Aussie!

By now the party was getting in full swing, and we were mooching with all the other bloggers, having a natter.

Here I am with the lovely Milly, Claire, Ling and of course me & Nicola.

After an introduction from Emma, we had a demo and chat with two Aussie resident stylists Amber and Zara. The demonstrated a fish tail plait on Ling, and we all had a natter about any past hair disasters and shared any little tips.

After the demo, the stylists set up in the corner ready to pamper and style everyones hair, whilst we enjoyed our lovely cocktails and the entertainment Lady GaGa and Beyonce provided.

Here are the girls jotting down some tips for the tip boxes that were staggered about the event, which will later be made into an Aussie Style Bible for each of us to own.

If you would like to have a nosey at any more of the piccys, please do check out the Aussie flickr account here.

It was an excellent evening provided by Aussie yet again, and it was wonderful to meet all the beautiful bloggers. Massive appreciation to everyone at 1000 Heads, Aussie, The Kingly Club and of course GaGa and Beyonce!

We have love for Aussie..!

After everyone left, we were the last remaining, (true party animals, ha!) but I'll save those piccys for my Facebook!

We left just after midnight, swinging our little purple goodie bags as we trotted homeward bound after a truely brilliant night was had by all.
