As the majority of you will know, I was having my hair stripped and dyed lighter last Thursday. Although I love my brunette locks, I have just felt that throughout the winter, my hair was too dark, and it really washed me out, especially without make up and fake tan. So with summer round the corner, I decided it was time to bring a bit of the old blonde in me out, even if only a few scattered highlights.
As I have a hair dresser that comes to my house this painful 10 hour process was down in more comfortable surroundings.
So this is me that morning;;
Yes 10 hours worth of hair battering, but my hair was so dark, everything had to be done twice, and washed and dried inbetween, hense the time it took. So here I am, complete with sexy towel with the first lot of peroxide starting to strip the colour.
After 40 mins, the second lot of peroxide was applied, and a further 40 mins later, I looked like this, eeeeeeeeeeeek!! (And I can't believe I am posting this picture, because it's bloody awful!) But at least you can see it worked, the peroxide turned my hair bright orange!
Then it was on to the actual hair dye. I had a 7.13 and a 7 mixed together, which I now think was too light, I wanted more of a 6 base. Again, my hair had to have dye on it twice, and finally once washed and blow dried, I had half a head of highlights put through it. So 10 hours later, 5 washes and blow drys and several hair colours, this is what I ended up with;;
I'm still really unsure how I feel about this colour. I've always gone for quite bold looks with my hair and this is just a bit, dare I say it, "blah". At first I thought it was the base colour I didn't like, but now I think it might be the blonde-ness in the highlights. Everyone says I'll get used to it, and they all really like it, but I don't feel like me, as strange as it may sound. And it's certianly no Jennifer Aniston is it?!
I'm going to try and hold out for another few weeks, just because I feel bad about the money spent on it, but I'm just craving going slightly darker.
Loves,
